How high do you need to raise your bed? Judging from the picture, I would say a 2x4 under each end would work the best. You could always get a thicker board, or use more than one, if you wanted it higher. I think cinder blocks will look a little strange with that bed.

If you decide to use a different foundation and frame, make sure you are resting your mattress directly on something very supportive and flat. The surface you put your mattress on should have solid wood slats that are no more than 4 inches apart. Some of our customers also use risers in order to maximize the storage space under their bed.

How long you cut your riser pieces will truly depend on how tall you want your bed but we went with 7 inches. Chop down all your risers, don't forget the middle support beams as well. Once you have made all of your cuts you will need to use a 1-inch hole saw to make your middle hole cuts to place the metal bed frame (without the wheels
